walking pez Lake Arrowhead Tavern Bay Northshore Hike

This hike of the north shore of Lake Arrowhead, CA begins at UCLA Bruin Woods at Tavern Bay and continues around North Bay to Long Point.
One can then turn around and retrace steps or create a loop by returning via North Shore and West Shore roads.
This trail is great for hiking and trail running and is generally uncrowded, especially during the week.
The Tavern Bay hike is of moderate difficulty only because of the elevation (5,200 feet) and the numerous stairs along the way.
Hikers and trail runners will experience beautiful views of Lake Arrrowhead from the shade of sugar pines as Stellar Jays chatter from the treetops and Bald Eagles circle the skies in search of a meal. If you're lucky, you may spot a bobcat or other wildlife along the way.
The UCLA Bruin Woods starting point is close to the North Shore Campground and Dogwood Campground, as well as, Lake Arrowhead Village, Blue Jay, SkyPark at Santa's Village, Lake Gregory, Lake Arrowhead Resort, Pine Mountain Camp, Alpine Camp and Conference Center, Pine Rose Cabins, and other local attractions.
Trail is dog friendly. As always be respectful and keep your canine friend leashed and curbed (i.e. pick up the poop!)
